Tuck's Jazz Picture Puzzles
So far, I have only seen these advertised in a Tuck's catalogue of about 1930.
The ad in the 1930 catalogue reads:
The puzzle in a sealed attractive jazz-coloured box and tied with coloured silk ribbon, with a miniature picture at the bottom of the box, makes a pretty as well as a fascinating gift for young and old.
There is an excellent choice to be made from a varied range of beautifully coloured pictures and interesting subjects.
These puzzles are finely and cleverly cut out of three-ply wood. Made in Fifteen Sizes

So these puzzles had a small guiding picture at the bottom of the box. We see the addition of small pictures to the box emerging all over Europe in the early 1930's
Anne William has a puzzle from this series. With her permission I give pictures of the box, the puzzle and the multi part figure pieces.
The box is 4.75" x 8.25" x 2", the puzzle is 11" x 7.5"
