PENNY JIG-SAW PUZZLE

I have two puzzles of which I do not know anything else than that I did buy them in 1988 in the Netherlands, where according to the lady that sold them, they played with them before WW II. The notion 'Made in England' suggests a production date not before 1935.

They are of thin grey card, 13.5 x 8.6 cm,  die cut in 5 x 7 = 35 completely interlocking pieces, and were sold, backed with a piece of thin card, in a cellophane wrapper with a round sticker to close it. The interlocking pieces do suggest production in the post WW II period .

The picture is of a puzzle in my collection. The two at the right hand side are from Alan’s collection. The unopened package has a die cut postcard, but the postcard looks like it is not carefully cut itself. At it’s right end we see part of the next postcard.
