PENNY JIG-SAW PUZZLE
I have
two puzzles of which I do not know anything else than that I did buy them in
1988 in the Netherlands, where according to the lady that sold them, they
played with them before WW II. The notion 'Made in
They
are of thin grey card, 13.5 x 8.6 cm, die cut in 5 x 7 = 35 completely
interlocking pieces, and were sold, backed with a piece of thin card, in a
cellophane wrapper with a round sticker to close it. The interlocking pieces do
suggest production in the post WW II period .

The picture is of a puzzle in my collection. The two at the right hand side are from Alan’s
collection. The unopened package has a die cut postcard, but the postcard
looks like it is not carefully cut itself. At it’s right end we see part of
the next postcard. |
